I find that my rules in my .mdc files, even when set to always include, rarely get respected.
If I add, in my prompt, “Be sure to read and understand headers.mdc and abide by its directives,” it works. But having to do that every time kinda defeats the purpose of the “Always,” no?

For me, .mdc rules are not even showing in the Cursor UI, and I believe are not being sent to the Model:
Same issue here. This appears to be an issue with all models where they are not able to read my rules when they are added into the prompt. See two separate chats below:
The models are able to read the rules files when I provided the full path: .cursor/rules/
