Well I have 40GB, and basically half of it is disk cache, which is weird because Cursor doesn’t appear to write too much to storage, it’s mostly the rust cargo toolkit. I don’t mind Cursor using memory, it’s the reason that annoys me, too many extra things happening when the real LLM data stream is only less than 1KB/s?
Rust is currently slowly dementing my SSD and it will croak sometimes next year, now Cursor decided after version 2.0 to somehow refresh the UI at 240fps and run all sorts of things in the background to keep the CPU at 90C.
