Multi-root support in Agents Window

New in Cursor! · Full changelog · Main announcement

You can now target a reusable multi-root workspace from a single agent session in the Agents Window!

Multi-root support lets one agent session work across multiple folders. Instead of retargeting the agent each time it moves between repos, you can define a workspace that includes the relevant projects.

This makes cross-repo changes easier when work spans frontend, backend, shared libraries, or other related folders.

We’d love your feedback!

  • What kinds of cross-repo changes are you using multi-root workspaces for?
  • Does the reusable workspace model match how your projects are organized?
  • What would make multi-root setup or navigation smoother?

If you’ve found a bug, please post it in Bug Reports instead, so we can track and address it properly, but also feel free to drop a link to it in this thread for visibility.

Does this support the newly added worktrees or possibly cloud agents? Other than that looking good.

Also wondering if this will come to Cloud Agents. Hard to get use out of them without a mono repo

came to say exactly this!! pls give this capability to the cloud agents, this is the last step to fixing our workflow gaps with AI that we’d love to have.

I was waiting for this feature! Should it work with WSL in current release? I’m unable to create a workspace with WSL repo - it simply doesn’t appear on the list. Works for local (Windows) projects. WSL repos work in single-root mode. Does not work for multi-root workspace.

Hey @rrkk

It’s not possible to build multi-root workspaces with WSL folders today! Will flag this for the team.

We’re working on it!

I was able to see the workspaces on the sidebar, but it would be nice to search them on the chat and also be able to rename the workspace.

@rafael Editing workspaces, and better discoverability of existing ones, is on our to-do list!

This is available now!

Yes, and it’s awesome. Thank you Cursor team!
