My Experience with CURSOR – Not Just Slow, Practically Unusable Lately

Hey everyone,
I’ve been a CURSOR user for a while now, and I wanted to share some honest feedback. What used to be a “bit slow but usable” tool has now turned into something that’s barely functioning at all.

  • Requests either take forever or don’t respond at all.
  • Coding help? It just freezes or stalls out.
  • The interface has become sluggish, sometimes completely unresponsive.

At this rate, this will probably be my last month with an active subscription. It’s disappointing, especially since I was hoping for reliability and performance.

I’m now seriously looking into alternatives, and if things don’t improve very soon, I’ll be switching over. If you’ve found any better tools or platforms, feel free to drop recommendations here. It would really help others who are facing the same issues.

Also, if you’ve had similar experiences, let’s share them in this thread — it might help newcomers know what to expect.

Cheers,
A (soon-to-be former?) CURSOR user

hey brother,

we feel your pain. hoping to get some resolve for a lot of the ongoing issues everyone seems to be experiencing.

I added your post to the list in regard to issues with the recent 0.50 updates we’ve all been finding problems with.

feel free to vote and contribute any additional feed back thats available. if we don’t advocate together, nothings ever going to improve at this rate.

we’re right there with ya, happy hunting.

I came to the forum with the intent to post something like this, and realized there are so many people having the same pain points and considering the same thing. Actually, I’m seriously, for the first time since I started using Cursor, considering switching to Windsurf or other alternatives.

This is no longer a productivity tool; this is a sleeping tool.
