Cursor is Slowing Down Severely After 0.49.4 – Is It Being Sunset?

Thanks for all the great work! But I’ve encountered an issue that I’m wondering if others are experiencing as well.

After updating to version 0.49.4, something strange started happening. Cursor now behaves as if it’s executing an action, then sleeping for 10 seconds, and then repeating—exec action → sleep 10000 → exec action → sleep 10000. It’s become almost unusable.

I’m a paid annual subscriber and still have plenty of my 500 monthly requests left, so I don’t think I hit a usage limit. This makes me wonder—is this issue happening because I’ve already paid for a full year, so the system no longer prioritizes my usage? Or is this a bug that’s affecting everyone?

Because of this behavior, Cursor has become extremely slow, and yes, it’s currently preventing me from using it productively.

System: [Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS]
Cursor Version: 0.49.4

Let me know if more details are needed—thanks!

To clarify, this happens when receiving a Chat response? E.g. after you send a query, it takes about 10 seconds to answer, or after the agent performs a tool call, it takes about 10 seconds to answer?

Sorry, it might have been due to a network hiccup—I noticed things went back to normal afterward.
It’s possible that the context in that session was too long, combined with a slow network connection.

The issue was that every action took quite a while to execute, and in the end, nothing was actually completed—it felt like a lot of effort went to waste.
