Using Cursor AI to assist in coding/debugging has been a boon in productivity and also, at times, frustration. I’ve taken to calling my AI programming assistant “Morey” which has two meanings 1) Can do “more” than I can in a short period of time and 2) Some of “his” answers are that of a total moron. I found a good photo to use… You might remember Morey Amsterdam from the 60’s. He was on the Mary Tyler Moore show and did stand-up comedy and had a few comedy records. This album cover hit the nail on the head… the darts missing the target… a lot.
Every time I read a post like this,
I feel frustrated.
What exactly do you mean by “using Cursor”?
Cursor is just a wrapper.
Which model did you use?
Well sorry to “frustrate” you :"^)
I have used all of the models over the year+ I have been using Cursor (wrapper). Now, in light of the billing changes, I am usually set to" auto".
In any case, the Morey name will stick though likely few here experienced the comedy of Morey Amsterdam.
If you’re using Auto mode, what exactly were you expecting?
You do realize that most of developers only use Auto for things like summaries, clarification questions, or finding references.
You can’t seriously expect to use that mode for actual code editing.
@yakovw.You don’t have to defend Morey. All his personalities Claude, etc have their issues, wander, loose context, hallucinate, etc. But, as I said, the “more” part of Morey is the huge productivity boost I get… until he becomes a moron and does things like changing random things that are unrelated to the question posed, or removing all my comments.
So is your complaint about Cursor or about the models themselves?

@yakovw, you are wearing me out guy. I was hoping to introduce some humor
…
Sorry, I didn’t understand you correctly
Probably because I don’t know the reference
Apologies, I’ll try to laugh more at the next joke
