Hi folks.
As many have communicated, v0.43.5 seems to have inexplicable changes that have not just dramatically changed the UI/UX of this tool, but have degraded its usefulness.
Notepads are essential. They were great right where they were, in the Composer Control Panel. The Control Panel was great how it was. There was zero reason to remove or change these things.
Now, Notepads is gone. In the right-click menu in the left toolbar, the Notepads option is greyed out, so I can’t enable it. The Beta feature is enabled in my Cursor Settings.
When will a patch be coming out that will restore this feature? It’s essential and without it my workflow (and ability to earn a living) is hampered.
From a feedback standpoint, I have been praising Cursor to whoever will listen, but this update feels like a smack right in the face. This isn’t a toy, we rely on this to do our jobs. Please, please, do not make any further dramatic changes to the UI or feature-set with no warning. Don’t remove or disable major features. Don’t move a bunch of things around.
As devs, I’m sure you can understand why these are important factors. Thanks for the hard work on Cursor so far, and I hope to see this app restored to its prior utility with Notepads and long context. Thanks!
