Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
Since the most recent bug, it appears that using the AI in any other way than the new agents UI is extremely buggy. I prefer to use it in a tab so I can use it properly on my vertical monitors. The new agents UI is awful for vertical monitors, since it only allows you to display content in columns, not horizontal rows. Now, since the last update, using the chat in editor window no longer works. When opening a new chat, the sidepannel chat window refuses to close, even after opening in editor tab mode. Then, the chat usually appears unresponsive. If you open multiple chats I figured out you can eventually get the input field to be responsive. But, if you try to make any file reference, upload images, or link to any pages, the UI starts behaving really weird. The input field appears unresponsive, except for some wierd backwards things. When trying to write it jumps to the left most position in the chat and stays there. Sometimes it will also write your prompt, but backwards?! It is super weird. Only way to use cursor now seems to be in the agents UI which does not work for me. I will not be using Cursor until this is fixed, as it is not convenient for me to use at this point…
hope editor window chat gets fixed soon. It has been buggy since I first installed cursor, but until now I was able to deal with the bugs. Now it is completely unuseable..
Steps to Reproduce
Open chat in editor window. Write a prompt. Upload an image. Then try to continue writing prompts
Expected Behavior
Chat should work the same in editor window as in agent UI and other chat UIs in cursor
Operating System
Windows 10/11
