The input caret stuck at the start of the field and does not advance with chat in editor mode

Describe the Bug

When selecting “Open Chat as Editor” the cursor of the chat input gets stuck at the beginning of the input box when typing.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Ctrl + I to open new chat
  • Click more actions in chat pane
  • Click Open Chat as Editor
  • Drag chat outside to make a new window
  • Enter into chat input

Expected Behavior

Cursor should move along with input from left to right at the end of the text.

Hey, thanks for the report.

This is a known issue with chat in a separate window. The team is aware and working on a fix. A few similar input bugs in separate windows are being tracked right now.

As a temporary workaround:

  • Use chat in the normal panel, not in a separate window
  • If you need chat in a separate window, try reloading the window (Ctrl+R)
