Chat in new window BUG

Describe the Bug

I have a problem with the chat on Windows 11. When I open it in a new window, it doesn’t work. After I refresh, it works until I add a link to context to chat

Steps to Reproduce

Open chat in new windows

1st bug - chat doesn’t work
ctrl + shift + p - reload window
2nd bug - chat works until I add context.

Expected Behavior

chat works in new window as in main window like in other editors (VS code github copilot or google Antigravity)

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known issue with chat in separate windows, and we’ve seen a few similar reports:

• Cursor AI New Window: Text Input Issues (Quoting @/L and General Typing)

A temporary workaround is to use chat in the main window instead of a separate one until it gets fixed.
