850 lines is not a big file.
Should there be an increase in the timeout, it’s terrible at the moment, it’s gone out so many times
I just tested it and the refactoring is failing, the new build is fine.
Can you try run the ‘Reload Window’ command and try again?
Theres a chance this is a bug, as the edits should not time out like this often.
It’s ok now , sorry about that, I deleted and recreated it, solved it, didn’t keep the logs
Project Background.
I asked him to refactor the UI, gave him a reference file with 850 lines of current UI code, at first he was editing it normally and everything was fine, but since it’s a refactor he needs to change a lot of it. It keeps loading and hasn’t bothered to finish editing for about a minute or two. Then it timed out, claude said to edit it in 2 passes, and it still timed out, and that was it. Four times in a row. Then I deleted it. Told him to just build a new one and it worked once (800 lines or so)
If it’s a small change, not a refactoring of the entire file code, it can be changed without any problem, so far I tested it can change up to 2,000 lines of the file (small changes, such as adding a message notification, fixing a bug, no problem)
There seems to be some problems with refactoring, maybe it’s the slow claude generation, but Google has no problem with it
