No Cursor-only purchase path: checkout requires xAI account authorization

When I try to buy any current plan from the Cursor pricing page, checkout hands me
off to auth.x.ai for an X/xAI account authorization. From my network,
auth.x.ai, accounts.x.ai and grok.com all time out with
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT, while cursor.com and api.workos.com load fine, and
WorkOS sign-in into my Cursor account works normally.

Per the official help article on The X Subscription, the bill, usage and
cancellation for that subscription are all managed at grok.com/dashboard. So a
user who cannot reach the xAI and grok domains cannot buy OR manage a
subscription at all — the flow dead-ends with no explanation.

Question for the team: is there any Cursor-only subscription path — billed and
managed entirely on the Cursor site — available to accounts in such a network
environment? If not, it would help to state that on the pricing page.

I am not asking for network workarounds. I have also emailed support about
restoring my previous legacy Pro plan (a plan that does not require an xAI
account).

@deanrie — could you help route this appropriately?

Hey @guanglong_luo,

Short answer: there’s no Cursor-only checkout right now. All current plans are sold as The X Subscription, so buying signs you in with an xAI account and is billed and managed on the Grok side. You don’t need to use X or Grok to keep using Cursor, but the purchase flow does run on those domains today.

You’ve spotted a real gap: if a network can’t reach the xAI and Grok domains, there’s currently no way to buy or manage a plan, and it dead-ends with no explanation. That isn’t on your end - it’s an issue we’re tracking, and I’ve passed along your pricing-page suggestion too. I’ll update here as things change.

For restoring your previous plan, that’s account-specific, so the support email you already sent is the right place for it.

Small update: support has opened ticket T-H80968 for this.

Could a human take a look? Two questions only:

  1. Can a cancelled legacy Pro plan (20 USD/month, Cursor-billed, no xAI account) be restored?
  2. If not, is there any Cursor-side subscription path managed entirely on cursor.com,
    without an xAI account authorization?

I’m not asking for network workarounds — just a yes or no. A template reply won’t
move this forward. Ticket: T-H80968

While T-H80968 is open, is there any temporary way to keep using Cursor for work?
For example: a short trial of a paid plan activated manually on your side, a
payment link that skips the xAI sign-in step, or reinstating my legacy Pro plan
for one billing period.

Checkout always redirects to the xAI sign-in domain, which my network cannot
reach, so I’m stuck on Free. I’m not asking for a network workaround — just any
vendor-side option. Happy to pay the normal price.
