So after installing the latest version because i was having crashes all the time there is no more file context where you select what file for the ai to reference
also, none of the models will update the code in my script. theyll only output it in their sidebar wont put anything on the page im working in.
ive tried uninsstalling reinstalling everything.
also had multiple times where the program basicaly uninstalled itself…
what do i need to do to fix this and have it working?
on the bright side its crashing less since all this but no context and no code updates kinda kills this for me
Hey, have you tried a clean reinstall? Also, let me know which version of Cursor you’re using. As for Cursor self-deleting, we haven’t found the cause yet, but we suspect it might be due to antivirus software or a built-in defender.
yes thats what i tried yesterday before posting. Fixed some crashing issues but now the file context is gone. and it did not resolve the updating code on the main script issue
If you have downloaded Cursor from cursor.com, you will be getting the latest version available to you. We rollout our new updates to all users slowly, to ensure we don’t introduce any bugs to all of our users, but you should get 0.45.x in the next few days!
0.45 has been quite a bit better less crashing and issues overal and the auto context does seem working decently however it still doesnt update/ apply changes to files when you prompt
instead it is creating a NEW file at the exact same path but wrong directory structure:
instead of editing the C:\…\scan.ts its making a NEW file at .…\scan.ts (notice the missing c:) i believe this is the root cause of this bug
