Multiple spams today indicate “voice mode” is available. Voice mode is not available. I asked claude-sonnet how to activate voice mode and it gave me many options. All failed. There does not seem to be any documentation.
Steps to Reproduce
Upgrade to cursor 2.0. Attempt to use voice mode
Expected Behavior
voice mode would be available
Operating System
MacOS
Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)
Hey, thanks for the report. Voice mode is available in Cursor 2.0, but I need a bit more detail to troubleshoot:
Where are you looking for voice mode? It should show as a microphone icon in the Chat input. Can you confirm if you see this icon? Please share a screenshot.
System permissions: please check that Cursor has microphone access.
Try fully restarting Cursor if you haven’t already.
Several users reported similar issues in the last day: Enabling Voice Mode in Cursor 2.0 we’re tracking this closely. Let me know what you find and we’ll dig in further.
This was my post that I made about me not allowing Microphone access on the Mac first. The microphone should be in place of the Send Arrow in the chat input and it eventually came back after force quitting Cursor 2.0 after a few times.
I noticed when playing with it, that the microphone is only present when there is 0 text input, so adding a character into the chat field turns the microphone into the send arrow and then deleting the character turns it back into the microphone.
It’s possible that when I restarted the application the first time, I remember there still being chat tab history present and my chats open. When it appeared again for me, there were no chat history tabs and it opened up on a New Chat. If I go to my previous conversations, I can also use it there too.
