I have been facing similar issue. Initially, I assumed it might be due to using the beta version, but even after the release of the stable 2.0 version, the problem persists. I have tried using both AirPods Pro (3rd generation) and Apple wired headphones, but neither of them works.
The voice input on Cursor isn’t working. I’ve tried everything in every possible way, but after clicking on the voice input and saying something, nothing appears in the textbox. I even tried refocusing on the input and changing the language, but nothing seems to work.
Steps to Reproduce
Just click the voice input icon or press Ctrl + Shift + Space and try saying something. You’ll notice that no text appears when you speak. Even if you try clicking the stop button, the text still won’t appear.
Expected Behavior
When I speak after clicking the voice input button, whatever I say should appear in the textbox.

I’ve facing the same issue and finally found the solution!
Go to System Setting > Sound > Output & Input, then slightly adjust input volume, this will reinitialize the microphone. I found the solution here:
It might be helpful if you integrate some kind of microphone check panel in the settings area. Or make the icon that appears when starting voice recording react to the incoming sound volume. Right now the user has now way to tell if there is no microphone input at all, or if it might be too low volume or if the microphone is working, but there is a different problem.
I notice that it does eventually show the transcribed words but there is about a 20-40 second gap between speaking and words beginning to show up. There is also an additional delay between the words in the sentence showing. Basically, wayyy too slow to be of any use.
“This is a test to see how long it takes to show this entire sentence” took about a minute and a half on 48 GB of RAM.
