Now we have it! thank you, cursor!

The latest update from Cursor — regarding usage, limits, and pricing — has been an absolute blessing for all of us!

It’s clear that Cursor is now positioning itself to become the leading platform in this new era of programming.

As developers, we often focus on bugs and issues — sometimes forgetting how impactful truly great updates can be. These recent changes have the power to significantly improve our professional lives.

The importance of this update cannot be overstated, especially when considering the economic disparity faced by those of us working in countries with weaker currencies against dollar. Competing on a global level was nearly impossible when just getting started required $800–900 a month. With this change, Cursor has taken a huge step toward creating a fairer, more inclusive global tech landscape.

To the entire Cursor team: THANK YOU!

It’s a bad thing that the forums are filled with man-machines screaming for measures to reduce the cost of the cursor, making the user experience worse.

I had to ask Grok, just to be sure.

“All of us” refers to every person within a specific group or context, including everyone without exception. It emphasizes collective inclusion, often implying shared experience, responsibility, or identity. For example, in a team setting, “all of us” would mean every team member.

Hi,
Have you done fora moderation before? Just curious…

Luckily not a mod anywhere anymore, I can just play around and enjoy the excitement.

How about others?

Just bcause its a mod forum does it mean you need to complain 24/7 and not recognize good stuffs? Oh man i lived my entire life wrong then

Well, the price was not addressed to cursor either way. you can still pay more directly to anthropic or openai as you want

“oh grok explain to me” tells a lot about you. Maybe you could ask for IQ at Christmas eve.

Tell me more about your egocentric lifestyle not happy with popular benefits, since you are not ‘one of us’ that enjoyed the price reduction

Since you asked, allow me to elaborate.

You see, in search for my missing IQ, I browse the Forum, or Reddit, or Discord, and I see a lot of people genuinely worried about the new pricing.

I see them not understanding the full implications of it, or struggling to gather all the information from the messages scattered across multiple places, regarding things like Pro and Ultra plans, max mode, the future of team plan, usage based pricing, background agents, bug bot, switching between old and new pricing plans, and others related topics.

I see people worried how the new rate limits will fit their individual workflows, how it will affect them and whether they’ll have to adapt by making some changes to how they approach their working day.

Sadly Christmas Eve is in half a year, so they might have to wait till then.

I do admit people have right to celebrate if they’re happy with the update, but writing that it’s an absolute blessing for all of us is a little of an overstatement.

I personally am waiting with hope for the moment I try out the new plan. For now I’m enjoying my leftover juicy, tasty fast requests, waiting for the situation to clarify and until we get more information.

Then, I might join you and we can enjoy this price reduction from $20 to $20 together.

I see your point, but the worries does not translate in practical usage.

My monthly bill is about 1200-1400 $dollars with cursor, and eventhhough we have not heard official statement clarifying new base prices, in practice, I am seing a reduction of ~70% of my balance account. This is what is happening, not the rumors, or uncertainty.

But I agree about the lack of clarification, although that was not the point…
