Not sure what’s going on.
Thanks for your reply. I’ve tried manually adding the other models, but they don’t show up using the search…
That’s weird! Try creating a new Post with category for Bug Reports. It makes reporting bugs much easier, especially for sharing your Cursor version. This helps the technical team debug the issue faster since I can’t help you with the technical fixes myself.
Why do you need more? They’re good models!
Thank you!!
But there is a difference between having options and not, especially when you have paid the same price for service as an individual…
Hey, thanks for the report.
This is usually caused by one of two things:
-
Regional restrictions
Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), and Google (Gemini) have region restrictions. Which region are you using Cursor from?
More info: Regions | Cursor Docs -
Custom models issue
If you added custom models before, they can break the list. Try this:
- Back up any important settings
- Delete this file:
~/Library/Application Support/Cursor/User/globalStorage/state.vscdb(Mac) or%APPDATA%\Cursor\User\globalStorage\state.vscdb(Windows) - Restart Cursor
Warning: this will reset your chat history.
Also, from the screenshot I can see you tried searching for models. To add a custom model:
- Cursor Settings > Models
- In the search field, type the model ID (for example, deepseek-v3.1)
- You should see a “+ Add Custom Model” button
- Click it and the model will be added
Let me know which case applies and whether it helped.
Dear respondent, thank you very much for your detailed reply. Now I see what’s going on — there are regional restrictions posted on my account as I am in China now. I can use deepseek-v3.1, but deepseek-v3.2 is also restricted?
DeepSeek v3.2 isn’t available in Cursor, that model doesn’t exist in the system.
In Cursor, only these DeepSeek models are available:
deepseek-v3.1deepseek-r1-0528
You may have seen v3.2 mentioned somewhere else, but it’s not in Cursor. The newest version is v3.1, which you already have access to.
