This has been discussed already in numerous posts.
It started affecting me recently on Windows with a long chat.
Apparently, deleting all your chats is the workaround. But perhaps just removing your most recent chats may work. You can do this on the “chat history” panel.
What I did was stop cursor and remove the most recently modified directory in:
C:\Users\stk\AppData\Roaming\Cursor\User\workspaceStorage
That blew away my pane setting layout and chats, but that’s about it.
