Feature request for product/service
Chat
Describe the request
Clicking a Slack archive link in Cursor chat opens the system browser. The page then redirects into the Slack desktop app and leaves a browser tab behind.
The same link, clicked in the Codex desktop app, opens Slack directly. Codex recognizes a Slack archive address, resolves the workspace, and opens it with the Slack app scheme. The browser never starts.
I reproduced both halves in Cursor 3.21.16 on macOS. A normal archive address opens the browser, then Slack. An app-scheme address is not clickable, and the click does nothing.
There is a related request to make custom schemes clickable: Make custom URL schemes (slack://, vscode://) clickable in agent chat
That request does not cover the web address click. Agents and people paste archive links, and those are the links that leave the tab.
Please make a click on a Slack archive link open the Slack desktop app, with no leftover browser tab. Making the app-scheme address clickable as well would let an agent hand back the direct address.
An allowlist for Slack archive paths, plus a confirmation for other custom schemes, would be enough.
