Almost every time I leave Cursor on overnight (meaning I just lock screen and go away, no jobs are actively running inside Cursor), I come to this (yes, it’s not a screenshot since the machine is completely stuck and out of memory):
Well, the problem is that it only occurs after long time of inactivity. Normally during the day it’s not leaking like this.
And when it happens none of the app responds until I force-quit them.
So I’m not able to provide the list.
Here is a list of my extensions if it helps exts.txt (1.3 KB)
Not necessarily OS related, I’m using MacOS as well and there are many other users with Mac or Windows without the issue.
@beshur could you still check the Process Explorer when you start Cursor and then before you leave your machine for the day after using it for a while, it could already show more RAM usage.
The list of extensions is not enough as it depends on what the extensions are doing in your setup.
You can disable extensions by starting with following command before you leave your machine.
cursor --disable-extensions
Alternatively:
Is there any Background Agent connected on your Cursor?
Are there any services/servers running in terminal?
I have the same issue, 65 GB memory usage overnight.
It automatically paused Cursor and other apps.
I made a snapshot of the process, however at that time it was 7.5 GB usage, since with 65 GB it wasn’t possible to make a snapshot at all.
But maybe you could see anything in it.
