When in Plan mode, after the plan is done in the side menu, it is impossible to view that plan in a tab, and impossible to proceed with plan - yellow Build button does not work. Clicking View Plan → the editor could not be opened due to an unexpected error. Please consult the log for more details. Clicking Try Again, there is error Unable to open plan-xxx-xxx.md

Steps to Reproduce

Start new chat, ask for a plan, wait for it to be completed in side menu, try to view it in tab or build it.

Expected Behavior

To open a plan in a tab and execute a plan (either from tab or from side menu).

Hey, thanks for the report. This matches a known issue in 2.1.47-2.1.48 that we’re tracking. Details and discussion here:

Workarounds:

  • In chat, ask to build the plan via text instead of clicking Build - this works for some users
  • Try launching without extensions: cursor --disable-extensions
  • If it’s critical, roll back to 2.1.46: Downloads | Cursor Docs

What we need from you for diagnostics:

  • Errors from Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Console after clicking View Plan and Build
  • Repro steps

Hi, I’m facing the same issue.

Prior to a recent change, the cursor … .plan.md files were saved to the “first” .cursor/plans folder in the workspace.

Yet now (since the “save plan” is failing) a colleague of mine has found out that they are actually saved in the “C:\Users\User.Name\.cursor\plans” folder.

So perhaps the cause of the issue is related to a change in how the folder,where to save the plan, is being defined/retrieved?

I want to add that when you click Try Again, and then the is new Error message popup, on which when you click on Cancel, the plan returns into the tab. But it won’t always build that plan (yellow Build button does not always click).
