I’ve been using plan mode and since last update, plans are generated but are not being saved to .cursor / plans. Agent also says it can’t locate the file after I hit build. And one time yesterday the plan file was randomly added to the root folder in plain .md format.
Steps to Reproduce
Create plans. persists in my IDE.
Expected Behavior
I expect a plan would be saved in /cursor / plans as it is generated and the agent would update it over time.

Hey, thanks for the report. Default plans are temporary and need to be saved manually.
Please check if there’s a “Save to workspace” button in the top-right corner of the chat bubble when a plan is generated. You need to click it to save plans to .cursor/plans.
If the button is missing or doesn’t work when clicked, please share a screenshot of the Plan mode interface. This will help us determine if it’s a regression in version 1.7.46.
Also, please confirm that you’re creating plans in a workspace, not in a single file.
I see—thanks for pointing that out. I didn’t realize I needed to manually save the file. I expected it to save automatically, or if saving manually was required, I would’ve expected the Save button to be more prominent—similar to the Build button in the top right when viewing the plan. Thanks for your help!
Chiming in here. This was also confusing to me. I did not realize I had to click to save to the workspace. I was also having issues with seemingly redoing plans but the old plan was still what was being sent to build.
