Plan upgrade to Pro+ one say after plan end

I have one day in my plan 20/m

But I have alot of work what will happen when I upgrade my plan today pro+?

Hey! When you upgrade your plan, your old subscription is automatically canceled, and you’ll get a prorated refund for the unused time. In your case, you’ll get a refund for the remaining 1 day of the Pro plan.

Please note:

  • The refund can take a few days
  • After upgrading to Pro+, you can’t automatically go back to your old plan, you’ll need to start a new subscription

Alternative: if you only need extra credits for one month, you can use on-demand usage without changing your main plan.

Similarly, if I want to ‘downgrade’ from a higher paid plan to lower paid plan mid-cycle what happens then? Is ‘Cancel’ and ‘re-subscribe’ the only option?

thanks!

Hey, yeah, canceling and resubscribing is the only way to switch to a lower plan mid-cycle.

With any plan change (upgrade or downgrade), this happens:

  • Your old subscription is automatically canceled
  • You get a prorated refund for unused time
  • A new subscription starts on the new plan

A few things to keep in mind:

  • The refund can take a few days
  • If you cancel an annual plan, you lose its benefits (for example, unlimited auto)
  • After switching, you can’t automatically go back to the old plan

If you need details for your specific case (like an annual plan), it’s best to email [email protected] before changing plans. They can explain the exact refund calculation and help with the process.

thank you! what do you mean by “You get a prorated refund for unused time” ?
Is the refund not according to the credit usage? i.e., if I have left $20 of API agent usage but I’m cancelling it on the 29th day of my monthly billing cycle, what will happen?

For an exact calculation specific to your account, best to email [email protected] - the billing team can break it down precisely.

Hi Dean. I know it’s been a while since this post, but I wanted to follow up because I’m dealing with this exact situation now.

You mentioned here that any plan change, including a downgrade, would cancel the old subscription and prorate the unused time. Billing just told me that they will not prorate my annual Ultra to Pro downgrade under the current refund policy, and that the earlier guidance reflected goodwill exceptions. I also saw your more recent July 30 confirmation that upgrades are still being prorated.

Has the policy changed specifically for downgrades or annual plans since this post? Just trying to understand what the current rule is. Thanks.
