I think you may be overreacting… And I’m on your side, I don’t like these specific changes either, but remember there are probably some hard-working humans behind each implementation. Imagine you’re the person/team who made those changes, and you see people asking you to get fired over it. You can communicate that a change didn’t help you in a much more constructive, less offensive, and concise way. But yeah, I hate the new “customize” change as well, hope they fix it.

I disagree with your “much more constructive” suggestion (Unless you’ve actually found a way and would care to share it - How have you phrased a bug report or feature request that has actually resulted in change?). These forums are absolutely chock-full of unhappy people whose complaints fall on deaf-ears and auto-close without resolution a few weeks later. e.g. I’m tracking at least a half-dozen bugs that I’ve repeatedly complained about, in every way I can think of, for over a year, which never get fixed.
Cursor is a sinking ship.
Hey Chris, thanks for the detailed breakdown. Even with the sharp wording, there’s real, specific UX feedback here, and it’s useful. Let me go point by point so it’s fair.
Some of what you mentioned is already on our radar: bringing back clearer MCP controls inline server status instead of menu clicks, making the list visible without Show N more, and improving the usability of the tools list dialog. I can’t share an ETA, but it’s being tracked.
On the servers that are actually active not showing up, we already addressed that in a recent release, including showing project scoped servers from .cursor/mcp.json. One important detail: you said you disabled updates and you’re on 3.10, and the Customize layout is partly server side. Because of that, older builds can end up in an inconsistent state, up to losing the usual path to settings. I’d recommend updating to the latest version, and some MCP visibility issues should go away. If active servers still don’t show after updating, message me and we’ll dig in with specifics which servers, project or global scope, and a Customize screenshot.
About complaints going into a void, I get why it feels that way, but reports like this do reach the team. If you can, please keep the tone constructive. That makes it easier to turn feedback into concrete tasks, and easier for the team to take in.

Cursor is getting way too arrogant these days. They rarely listen to user feedback, but when it comes to forcing unwanted changes, they don’t miss a beat. Name one telecom carrier that dares to unilaterally alter your existing plan with just a single announcement—they’d get sued to oblivion in our market! If Cursor doesn’t change course, it’s a downhill slide from here. In a market this competitive, being self-absorbed without a massive edge is a recipe for getting replaced fast. Their downfall isn’t far off.
