i have about 1-15 models in the selection and sometimes i spend too much time searching for the one im looking for and lose focus on programming. can we maybe have selection of providers and then in there select the model? or something like that?
hi @liquefy and thank you for the feature request, we will consider it.
While this is not a feature we have for now you could use the search in the model selector. Otherwise i suggest disabling models you do not use.
Agreed that with new models the list is getting longer.
I think you’re asking for the wrong feature.
What we really need is the option to have several models displayed side by side, not hidden in a combo box.
For example, the three models that are used all the time should be directly accessible.
We could even give them short names so the buttons don’t take up too much space.
That would help a lot.
I also think AUTO should be included in this.
It still takes time, especially to enable and disable AUTO.

Please pass this on to your designer.
@yakovw thank you for the suggestions. Please note that it is not always just as easy as adding 3 buttons into UI. There are additional settings like Max, and modes that need to be accounted for.
Currently you can solve the quick selection by creating 3 custom modes with each one custom model, enabling all tools and adding a keyboard shortcut which would then switch immediately to the model you want.
That’s a really good idea — I’ll check it out.
I know, I’m a programmer too this is just a suggestion for when it does become possible.
Thank you, we’ll take this into consideration.
Or sort the dropdown by most recently used
or allow setting the dropdown menu order by dragging the models on the model page.
This is probably the best solution since it creates a consistent dropdown menu and the user can order them to their preference. The model page does represent the order of the dropdown already, you just can’t change that order.
It would be nice to group existing models together, such as Claude-4-sonnet, which could have a toggle for thinking after you’ve picked it, and GPT-5, which could have a toggle for fast and a dropdown for thinking level (and possibly a minimum thinking requirement for fast tasks, similar to Codex VSCode plugin).

yessir! btw i just noticed, there is gpt-5
and gpt-5-medium
, i thought they are the same? or what exactly is gpt-5
without reasoning effort specified?
GPT-5 is still with reasoning, but will have a look.
thank you. i was meaning to ask, is there any way to reach you via some private messaging platform? there is no such option on the forum and I was meaning to ask you about something in regards to laravel earlier
