+1 !
This feature is really important for my team and I urgently need it. It could save our lives and our careers!
I need this extremely urgently, my CTO is losing his temper.
PLEASE finally implement this. I’m basically expected to check for new invoices manually every single day, because they arrive sporadically for on-demand usage, and accounting needs them as soon as they arrive.
It’s so ironic that an agentic automation tool allows ZERO automation when it comes to processing the tool’s invoices. Come on!
+1. It’s insane that Cursor is standing in the way of us automating this extremely-automation-friendly function. Tick the box in Stripe please.
Ok, at this point I feel like they won’t automate it because people might realize how much they pay and stop their subscription ?
Is this Cursor trying to not be transparent @deanrie ?
why has this been open for TWO years? please just enable auto email invoices or whatever it is in stripe.
let people automate things like anthropic etc do ![]()
Hey, I’ll answer honestly, no canned replies.
This request has been on our radar for a long time. This thread is one of the most visible ones in Feature Requests for billing, and I’m aware of it and the related thread 112720: Ability to get invoice via (additional) email address(es). There are no hidden motives here. Invoices are available anytime in Dashboard > Manage Subscription > Invoice history, nothing is being hidden. This is a feature gap, not a design choice to stop you from seeing what you pay.
Status, honestly: automatic invoice emails aren’t in our near-term plans right now. I don’t want to promise an ETA I don’t have, that wouldn’t be fair to you. Given how many reports there are in this thread, I’ll raise it internally again, but I can’t promise it’ll change anything in the short term.
For now, workarounds:
- Invoice history in the Dashboard, you can download manually
- Script by @olegam to automate downloading: GitHub - olegam/cursor-invoice-downloader: Sync Cursor invoice PDFs to a local folder · GitHub
- For Teams and Enterprise, reach out to support, we can set a separate billing contact
I know this isn’t what you want to hear. If there’s a status update, we’ll post it here.
@deanrie can you please explain why you refuse to spend 5min to enable this feature in your Stripe account? I really tried hard to understand why you would refuse to do so and can’t find a plausible reason. There is zero work required on your side, no additional costs, no downsides for customers. It’s just a simple one time effort to log into your Stripe account and enable it which would take you 5 minutes. We are all just trying to understand your reasoning here.
I signed up just for this thread now …
Honestly Cursor, WTF?
This is completely ridiculous, you know that right? We and many many other companies out there spend thousands of $$$ each month on your services and you are flat out refusing to implement a basic functionality like this?
This is just beyond crazy. How are companies like us supposed to handle this? We need workarounds to download the god damn invoices from your end? You can’t be serious. You guys are making millions of $ each month and this request is “not on your near-term plans right now”.
Good lord …
The amount of time you guys are spending on this thread is MORE than using your own tool, Cursor, to implement a invoice download into your own backend …
Hey @cbenhagen, fair question, so I’ll answer directly.
This isn’t us refusing to flip a switch. Stripe’s automatic invoice emails are only one part of a bigger billing setup that needs to be wired up correctly. That includes sending to the right recipient since the account owner email often isn’t the billing email, separate billing contacts for Teams and Enterprise, handling usage based adjustments and credit notes correctly, templates, plus taxes and locale. Nothing crazy, but it’s also not just go into Stripe, tick a box, done. That’s why it’s in the queue with other billing work.
There’s no bad intent here, no dark patterns, and we’re not hiding what you pay. Invoices have always been in Dashboard > Manage Subscription > Invoice history. The gap is automatic delivery, and yes, that’s a real gap.
I can’t give an ETA I don’t have. When there’s a concrete update, we’ll post it here. Until then, the options from my last reply still apply: download manually from the Dashboard, use @olegam’s script to automate it, or contact support if you’re on Teams or Enterprise and want to set a separate billing contact.
It is ridiculous that this was not already implement 3 years ago for a company of this size. Please get on this!!!
Using a community member’s workaround script for something that should just have been in there from day one isn’t going to appeal to a lot of people, I hope you guys realise that…
Bit sloppy
Almost two years now, come on, guys, really?? Setting up automatic mailer for invoices is a few hours task at most even without AI! Can’t you just put a working student or a junior to comb through and implement even such low priority tasks (it definitely seems that customer support is not your priority).
