Why does Cursor keep using PowerShell to execute commands? I specifically added in cursor rules that it should use bash.
I’m on a Mac, and I would prefer it to use ZSH, but when I tell it to, it goes insane and just wastes a bunch of credits on useless ■■■■, which is why I tried bash, but it still goes insane.
Help is appreciated.
I am also on a mac (M3 - running latest OS and Cursor) and have the same issue. The terminal execution in Chat is none functional for me and a bit of a blocker as it will cycle through alternatives before giving up. I did submit a support ticket with a screenshot.
Hey, I figured it out. I uninstalled PowerShell and set my default shell in cursor as ZSH.
I’ve tried that as well, but with bash. I “think” I have removed all Powershell traces from my osx.
Updated settings.json mentioned in other threads. It drives me nuts and unusable in composer/agent. I have to switch to external terminal and run it. I wish there was a way to turn off Powershell, it’s not usable on Mac.
