Privacy mode in 1.0 vs previous (legacy)

I reverted to version 0.5 in order to be able to keep the previous version of privacy mode (no code stored anywhere). I also blocked automatic updates of Cursor, as it would force switching to the new privacy mode. I’m fine not using background agents (they’re expensive anyway as use MAX mode) or memories. Is there a way to update Cursor and keep the legacy privacy mode (no data or code storage whatsoever) ? or does Cursor enforce switching to the new legacy mode with the new updates ?
My reason for keeping no-storage privacy mode: some of my codebases have privileged information in them and I am not comfortable having those stored anywhere.

Thanks

Hi, there is still the Privacy Mode (Legacy) supported on latest Cursor so there is no reason to downgrade to unsupported Cursor versions.

You should be able to see following in newest version:

Its totally fine to use the privacy mode without background agents or other features that would require online code storage.

Thanks ! I had that initially but upon quickly switching to new privacy mode to test features, the legacy option wasn’t displayed anymore. I will update now and hopefully it’ll be there.
I also just noticed in my cursor.com settings dashboard you can edit your privacy settings and legacy mode can be chosen
