GitHub has released a central MCP registry and our company is going to make a curated registry based on it. Soon Visual Studio Code will be able to read this public registry and curated registries to get its MCP.json file. This can be enforced with GitHub policies for our users.
While we can whitelist MCP servers in the cursor dashboard what we are looking to do is have one centrally managed registry. We wanted to know what Cursor might be working towards in making use of these central registries? Will we be able to point cursor at our public curated registry endpoint and consume that?
