Pro User: Persistent Code Editing Issue and New Chat Launch Error After Update

Hello everybody and especially the Cursor Support Team,

I am a Pro user encountering two significant issues with the software making the tool nearly unusable. While one problem has been persistent, the recent update has introduced a new error.

  1. Code Editing Issue (Pre-Update):
When editing a JavaScript file using the Composer to fix a bug, the software deletes the entire code and leaves only the modified part instead of updating just the section requiring edits. This issue has been present even before the latest update and is highly disruptive to my workflow.

  2. Chat Launch Error (Post-Update):
After updating Cursor, launching the chat feature with Ctrl+Shift+Space results in the following error

ERROR:
The editor could not be opened due to an unexpected error: Assertion Failed: argument is undefined or null

I rely heavily on Cursor for my work, could you please help me resolve these issues? Let me know if you need any additional information or screenshots.

Thank you for your assistance.

I pay for the service, yet the tool is completely unusable, forcing me to unsubscribe. The customer care is non-existent, and they don’t even address issues that make the tool unusable for paying users. I’d be happy to return once you start taking care of your customers or treat customer care as a necessary expense in the business plan.

Having the same issue after the recent update. Worked on my laptop after update, but not on my main computer. Will also have to unsubscribe if this is not solved… Unfortunate.
