I’d like to ask for some clarification regarding the Auto Model in Cursor.
Will the Auto Model remain unlimited and free to use for individual paid plans (not team plans)?
I just want to confirm whether this feature will always be included or if future usage limits or additional costs might apply.

All Auto tokens are included in your plan, up to your next billing cycle, for plans that were paid for prior to 15th September 2025.
In other words, if you have any annual plan that you paid for prior to 15th September 2025, then Auto is included until your next bill.
e.g. Annual Pro Plan paid for on 1st September 2025 will have Auto included until 31st August 2026. After that, Auto tokens will be charged at the prevailing rate.
For me, that means I will no longer be able to afford to use Cursor when my Pro plan expires next September. I am three weeks into the monthly billing cycle and based on current rates, I would have paid $125 (for the three weeks) on top of the $200 annual plan fee. Extrapolating those figures would mean that I would be paying well over $2000 per annum.
The Pro+ plan might just be worth it for me when the time comes, but no doubt the AI development landscape will look very different in 12 months time, so it’s not even worth thinking about until closer to my plan expiry!

For any accounts billed from 15th September 2025 onwards, Auto is NOT included. The following link mentions this and states the pricing for Auto tokens.
On the basis that you are on a monthly plan, and it is now end of October, you cannot have free Auto. The last free Auto for monthly users would have expired on 13th October for those who paid for their monthly plan on 14th September.
In short, if you are not on an annual plan that you paid for prior to 15th September 2025, you cannot be getting Auto for free.
There is now no option for free Auto as far as I am aware. I decided to pay for an annual plan before my monthly billing occurred in early September, so I get Auto included for free until my annual plan expires next October.
Yeah but In my case today is 28th November, my billing cycle will start on 9th December, and I still can see that Auto is unlimited till now.. And I’m on monthly subs,
However, I’m a member since July 2025, and I almost didn’t use my tokens (The 20$) during these months, could it be consuming the Auto Credits from those past months ?

So, which is cheaper in terms of token consumption: using a selected cheap model (such as Grok Code or Composer) or using Auto mode? I’m a little confused about this, and on top of that, the conditions keep changing every single month…
