May I ask if purchasing a one-year membership today, September 15th, in Auto mode still allows unlimited usage
Hey, yes, this offer is valid until 12:00 PM UTC.
Hello, may I ask how I can renew my membership for another year on top of the one month membership I have already purchased
II just bought an annual subscription, but the appearance of the Pro Plan Summary panel has changed (the Unlimited until signature has disappeared…).
Now I’m not sure if I really have unlimited auto mode, can anyone convince me that everything is fine?
Hi,
I purchased the annual plan today (Sept 15) before the deadline. However, on my account page, it doesn’t say “unlimited Auto until next renewal” — instead, it just shows “included” next to Auto.
Can you confirm if I still have unlimited Auto usage until my plan ends?
If you buy an annual subscription today (September 15), you’ll still get unlimited Auto mode. These changes will start at your next billing renewal after September 15 for both monthly and yearly plans.
I got this response from support, so apparently everything is fine.
The same thing, so I would like to hear the moderator’s response in this topic
Hey all!
The pricing change previously discussed here has now taken effect. This means that any subscriptions purchased since 2025-09-15T00:00:00Z are no longer eligible for the unlimited Auto usage and will now use the standard Auto pricing.
For those with existing subscriptions brought on or before 2025-09-15T00:00:00Z will continue to get Unlimited Auto until the end of their plan - for monthly plans, this will be the end of the billing month, and yearly plans will continue to get unlimited Auto until their yearly renewal.
Note: The times posted in this thread are interactive, and should display relative to your local time - clicking the times will show you your local time, and UTC time for reference.
so your support is saying it is fine to buy it today to get unlimited auto and your announcement said AFTER September 15, but it was implemented yesterday September 14?
Hey, our support should also have confirmed that, as of today (Sept 15th), the new pricing system would take effect. The wording on the original post was valid, stating that for existing users, the unlimited use of Auto would stop on the user’s next renewal following the pricing change today.
If you’re plan renewed on or before the 14th, you would keep Unlimited Auto until your next renewal after the 15th
I purchased the annual plan today because a team member here clearly said the unlimited Auto offer was valid until 12:00 PM UTC. That’s the only reason I upgraded before that time.
Now I see a new post saying the cutoff was actually 12:00 AM UTC, which means I’m no longer eligible. This is very confusing and feels unfair since I made the purchase based on the information provided by your team.
Could you please clarify what will happen in my case?
I was holding off to buy until later today after being told in this discussion that the cut off was 12:00 PM PST, but that message has since been edited to 12:00 PM UTC so now I am outside of the cutoff and can no longer renew for a year to get free auto.
Do anyone knows can i buy it right now? Is there a support here? ![]()
With Pro Plan Summary, I can see the following**:**
| Total | 1.1M | $0.73 Included |
|---|
Can I use up to $20 included in the plan? Or can I expect higher numbers?
If you use Auto mode while you still have a $20+ deposit, that balance will always be consumed first. Once the deposit runs out, you can use Auto mode “unlimited.”
Strange logic, but that’s how it works.
So my advice: spend the $20 on higher-tier models like GPT-5, then switch to Auto mode for unlimited use.
Ask for refund if they don’t offer unlimited.
Unfortunately, other than the Tab Model, there’s nothing special about Cursor. Agentic coding is far better on Claude or Codex.
There are also plenty of bugs and Cursor is slower than VSCode in terms of usage. VSCode just opens and runs faster.
I could not justify spending $200+ for an year of commitment to Cursor AI
Things are changing very rapidly in this space, and the quality of the Auto model is not guaranteed.
Constant pricing changes, plenty of bugs, constant UI changes when I’m getting used to a particular flow all indicate this is still very product and spending for an year If I’ll get what I buy.
I almost agree with you. I spent a month working with the “unlimited” Claude Code + Roo Code GUI, and it was indeed productive — I burned through a lot of credits by pushing the model all month.
That said, Claude Sonnet 4 and Opus 4.1 feel too heavy and slow in cases where speed and simplicity matter. Roo Code, despite having a built-in role orchestrator (including automatic handling of small tasks), struggles with memory overflows.
I switched back to Cursor and tested the free Grok-code-fast. It handled the errors left after Claude Sonnet 4 faster and more accurately, following instructions precisely and without overcomplicating tasks. Cursor’s interface also played a big role in making this efficient.
