This month I’ve already spent around $250 using the Sonnet 4 agent in Cursor.
I can’t really switch to another agent because Sonnet 4 is the only one that works well for my needs – it’s hard to downgrade. But the costs are getting heavy, and the month isn’t even over yet.
My question is:
Would you recommend switching to the Ultra plan ($200/month)?
What’s the real difference between spending $200 with Pay As You Go versus paying $200 for the Ultra plan?
In other words – does Ultra provide any clear advantages (performance, stability, fewer limits) compared to just paying per usage?
There is indeed a significant difference between the plans:
The Pro plan costs $20 and includes $20 in AI usage, plus additional bonus usage.
The Ultra plan costs $200 and includes $400 in AI usage, along with bonus usage as well.
Both plans offer the same level of stability and performance. However, the Ultra plan provides much higher limits and eliminates concerns about exceeding your budget, since reaching the Ultra tier with pay-as-you-go usage already covers the upfront cost. With the Ultra plan, you effectively save the difference between the $200 monthly cost and the $400 of included usage, in addition to any extra bonus.
