Yes, I’m already subscribed to Pro and I’ve enabled pay-as-you-go usage.
But I’m paying quite a lot every month, so I’m wondering: would the Ultra ($200) plan actually be cheaper, or about the same?
Which option is better for me with heavy usage?
It depends on how much you end up spending.
$60 for Claude Sonnet 4 isn’t that much if you use the agent every day and want it to last through the month.
If you want to use Cursor intensively, I’d recommend going straight for the Ultra plan at $200, since that gives you $400 in credits right away. With the $60 plan, you’ll just get $60 plus a small amount of free credits.
Thanks! What I really mean is this:
If I end up paying about the same amount as the Ultra ($200) plan through Pro + on-demand usage, would that give me the same (or more) usage?
Or does subscribing directly to the Ultra plan provide more usage for the same cost?
This gives you an extra $200. So for $200 you get $400 in credits, which should be enough for most users. With the $60 plan, you just get $60 and can top up as much as you want at usage rates.
The benefit is obvious. Cursor is becoming expensive, and the Ultra plan is the best deal for heavy users. If Ultra still isn’t enough for you, then it makes sense to look at other AI providers + keep the $20 Cursor subscription just for IDE autocomplete. That’s the most balanced option if you care about saving money.
@Abdelrahman_Mohamed mostly it depends where you end up currently with your Pro usage
Pro Plan: $20 cost and $20 minimum usage + bonus
Pro+ Plan: $60 cost and $70 minimum usage + bonus
Ultra Plan: $200 cost and $400 minimum usage + bonus
If you reach now with Pro plan and Usage Billing over $200 then Ultra will save you money.
If you get monthly to $100 then Pro+ is your most cost saving plan.
