I was a Cursor user for a few months and am considering returning. However, one limitation I encountered in the $20 Pro version was that I sometimes exceeded the 500-request limit and suddenly needed more.
Currently, I see the following statement: “Once you reach the speed limit, you can continue using the premium models.” Does this mean that after making 500 requests using Sonnet 3.7, for example, I can still use it as long as I wait for the results?
I don’t recall this being the case when I was a subscriber, and the explanation on your page isn’t entirely clear to me. Could someone clarify this for me?
Yes the Cursor docu pages explain that after using 500 fast requests your requests get into the slow queue.
The more you use the slow queue and the more people use the slow queue at same time the longer you may have to wait (for fairness for everyone using that queue).
Alternatively you can turn on Usage-based pricing if you need fast requests and got over 500 requests already. They are charged at same rate like the Pro package but per request instead of having to buy 500 more requests.
Thank you very much! With this, I will become a Cursor user again, as I think it is a very good tool.
I believe that before, it was not possible to use pro models like Claude 3.7 or other pro models when credits ran out, unless a little extra was paid for additional usage.
I think it’s wonderful that they have made this change.
