So i used cursor quite a lot yesterday , got rate limietd at night around 10pm , now 9 am i was using it , and even tho i had no max mode , it got limited too fast , like i barely used it , i was using claude 3.7 thinking
I want to understand how those rate works , how they reset , its too confusing right now
Its based on demand, if you want more usage you need to wait for demand to die down or use auto. The limits change every few seconds, which is why you should use auto.
im also using it at Ultra mode and is scary not being able to know when will I reach the limit and not be able to continue working

they dont provide number or data so we know how and what to use , they just say “rate limmit” , the pro + has 3x de pro whatever that means, the ultra has 20x , whatever 20x of what means, theres no transparency

The rate limit is not a fixed number. Put on auto, and you’ll never run into it, unless you have several instances open. They don’t tell you, because they can’t tell you, because it changes constantly based on demand.

They really need a clearer display of how close we are to our non-auto limit usage instead of just a message once and a while.
hi @Rick_Maranta you can see the included usage in Dashboard > Usage as summary. It shows also your account plan for reference.
As you mention Auto, it is shown for reference but does not count as limit.
The Included Usage Summary is not clear at all in my opinion. I have no clue how close I am to being over. I just want a simple percentage. You have used up 80 percent. etc.

Awesome, thanks. A little progress bar/pie etc. would be good for us visual people as well. I would love to see something persistent on the cursor UI itself, so I know when not to embark on a complex feature dev and focus on smaller things before my credits run out. I am all Vibe so have to be careful.
