Reflections on cursor 3 - 1.5

the voice to text is close to perfect if i could do ctrl shift m to ‘hold’ or toggle it and then turn it off with either contrl shift m or control m – chef’s kiss
i’ve just been using it as a second monitor agent talk mechanism. if there were a way to route the opening of files onto the ‘old’ vs code implimentation? to $$ with the file hierarchy and browser you guys have done up, i’m now trying to use it entirely as a seperate pane to talk to and manage my agents and i can look at the files on the big monitor. this seems to be working well for me.

just a toggle somewhere then that, when i click on flie, open it in the vs code window
diffs view isn’t loading correctly for me personally, getting a use git repo to track changes as we’re on the same repo we’ve always been on

when i do open a file or press ctrl + g it’s defaulting to the correct file hierarchy and no open folders perfectly each time now

oh . i was going to say it’s not picking up my skills. yeah. some how agents window opened in . . . it can edit my files. but its not like ‘connected’ to the repo like the cursor 2 window is. that’s strange

i wonder if he’s not even getting my rules then? that’s unique

Hey, thanks for the detailed feedback. There are a bunch of topics here, so I’ll go through each one.

Voice-to-text hold or toggle on Ctrl+Shift+M is a good feature request.

Routing file opens into the old VS Code window: there’s no setting for that right now. As a workaround, if you keep your main window open in the same workspace, you can drag files from the Agents Window, or just use the main window as usual. But as a feature request like open file in main editor, not Glass panel, it makes sense.

Diff view shows use git repo to track changes, and skills or rules aren’t being picked up. These things look like the same symptom. You already noticed the Agents Window isn’t connected to the repo like the Cursor second window. This strongly suggests the Agents Window was opened not at your git repo root, or in a different folder entirely. Skills, rules, and diffs are pulled from the workspace root, so if that differs, all of this breaks at once.

Can you check:

  1. In the Agents Window, what workspace root is shown in the title bar or in File > Open Recent? Does it match the main window?
  2. Share a screenshot of the use git repo to track changes message, and your Cursor version from Settings > About.

If the workspace is actually different, try opening the Agents Window from the main window so it inherits the workspace.

Glad to hear Ctrl+G and file hierarchy work as expected.

Reply with answers for 1 and 2 and we’ll dig in.

crazy idea ; khan board subjects. different agent ques in those different khan boards
