Request for Mistral Models

This would be great!

Mistral just released Devstral 2 which is very promising, and we in the EU are in desperate need for a nice open model to use with Cursor.

+1 also

Needed here also.

Please integrate Mistral directly as a 1st grade supported model !

+1 we want mistral in cursor!

1 year later and no progress… Cursor sucks

+1 would love this

Still, to be sure that we are not suddenly deprived of the US models somehow. So just build it and let it up to the users to decide which model they want to use.

And maybe someone can build an VS Extension for Mistral?

Could we please get Mistral models out of the box please? I would like to just toggle it on and off instead of having to get a separate Mistral account

+1 Would love to be able to use Mistral

+1 from a European company

+1

+1

Would love native support for Mistral models such as Devstral 2!

+1 :heart_exclamation:

give us Mistral please !

Mistral Vibe should be quite good now

I’m on the fence about Mistral Vibe. On one hand, I want to use Mistral, on the other, I don’t want to pay for multiple AI agents. Either I move to another editor that supports ACP and pay for mistral, or I find a solution that directly uses Mistral (and other models) without having to pay for Mistral and that solution. Cursor could be the solution, but it seems like Mistral is very low on the totem pole. They even added Kimi K2 before Mistral.

+1 :slightly_smiling_face:

+1 for this. Would love to see Mistral models, particularly Codestral and Devstral, as supported options.

I think there’s a genuine business case for Cursor here too, not just a user convenience thing. Mistral’s models are significantly cheaper than the big US frontier models. Codestral is $0.30/$0.90 per million tokens, Devstral Small is something like $0.10/$0.30. If a chunk of users shift their usage to Mistral models out of their own choice, Cursor’s cost per request drops considerably while the subscription price stays the same. Kinda a no brainer and win win :person_shrugging:

Mistral is a French company and already operates EU-based infrastructure. For European users (and there are a lot of us) who have GDPR concerns, eratic US government actions particulary in cases of access to AI models, or simply prefer data staying in the EU, offering Mistral models hosted on EU infrastructure would be a meaningful differentiator. Could open doors for Cursor in enterprise and public sector markets in the EU that are currently difficult due to data residency requirements. Just a thought.

Models like Devstral were specifically built for agentic coding workflows, so they’re a natural fit for what Cursor is already doing. Feels like a partnership worth exploring. They aren’t frontier models no but they are good enough for many small tasks, and if people are asking for them why not add them?

Any news on this? Did anyone managed a workaround to use Mistral models through API, in waiting of a proper solution?
