"Run Everything" - don't work

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I noticed that after the “Run Everything” switch was introduced, it doesn’t work as expected. Even when it’s enabled, the Allow List is still applied. As a result, I constantly have to manually approve every command or keep adding new ones to the Allow List.
I’ve tested this functionality on multiple machines, and it doesn’t work anywhere.

Steps to Reproduce

Setting → Chat → Auto Run → Run Everything

Operating System

MacOS

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, I just checked and it works fine for me. Which commands did you add to the allowlist? If you remove them, does it fix the issue?

I tried clearing the commands and switching to other modes — but I still constantly get the action selection menu for any command that isn’t in the Allow List.
I also tested this on other machines, and the functionality doesn’t work there either. I have to manually approve or add new commands to the Allow List.

Maybe if there’s at least one command in the Allow List, the “Run Everything” switch gets ignored?
If that’s the case, it’s very inconvenient — because if you need to switch back to “Use Allow List,” you’ll have to repopulate the list manually. And if frequent switching is required, it would be a real nightmare.

No, I don’t think so. I have several commands in the list, and “Run Everything” works perfectly. Does this also happen in a new chat?

Yes
This problem is observed in all versions 1.4.* - 1.5.*

Thanks for the additional info, we’ll investigate this.
