Save Composer chats

Is it possible to save chats that we have had using Composer? Im losing them each time so have no historical record to refer back to. I am guessing there is a feature to save them

You can press the save button to save them

and access them back using history,
g
or by using the control panel.

But the problem is, it doesn’t automatically save them, which is a pretty useful feature I’m looking for. There’s not even a setting to allow that and I’ve lost something important because of this. This should be pretty easy to implement too.

bump on this- it would be nice to be able to save composer chats outside of the project it was created in.

I haven’t had a problem with composer history until I moved my project directory. When I reopen the project in its new location all conversation history is gone. That was really valuable history that I’ve been paying extra $ and a lot of time to get. How can I get it back?

Oh wow. This is a game changer!

We just built a native extension that exports all Chats and Composer logs from Cursor: SpecStory (Cursor Extension) - Visual Studio Marketplace

@jpshack-at-palomar - I also thought Thomas Pedersen’s cursor-chat-browser was cool! We have similar insights on how to engage with the logs - browse, search, export.

Difference is that SpecStory installs as a Cursor extension and automatically pulls the data without you having to find the DB. Works with the recent changes in Cursor 0.43. You can also share a URL with a nice browseable view of all your logs.

The newest version of SpecStory has an autosave feature!
