Security Incident : Cloud Agents created at the wrong place

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Background Agent (GitHub, Slack, Web, Linear)

Describe the Bug

I originally had a personal Cursor account that I connected to my company’s Linear. Recently, my company provided me with a Corporate Cursor account. However, when I create Cloud Agents, they keep appearing on my personal account rather than the corporate one.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Create a Cursor Pro account with a given address email
  • Use that account to connect to a Slack and/or a Linear account
  • Create a new Cursor Pro account with a different address email
  • Disconnect your Slack and Linear integrations
  • Reconnect your Slack and Linear integrations with your new account
  • Launch some background Agents

Expected Behavior

I expect to see my background Agents under my new account. Not the previous one.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This looks like a bug with how Cloud Agent integrations are linked to accounts. To properly diagnose and escalate this, could you check:

  • GitHub Integration: In Cursor, go to Settings → Cloud Agents → GitHub. Which account is connected there?
  • Dashboard Check: Visit Cursor - The AI Code Editor → Cloud Agents tab. Which email/account is shown at the top?
  • Integration Status: In the same dashboard, which account are Linear and Slack connected to?
  • Could you share screenshots of these sections (feel free to hide sensitive info)?

Since Cloud Agents require GitHub integration to work, and you’ve flagged this as a security incident, confirming which account the integrations are actually connected to will help us escalate this to the engineering team with the right details.

  • Maybe that’s the tricky part, I use my personal GitHub account at work. My personal GitHub account is linked to my personal email.

    • Also side issue, I don’t manage actually to reinstall the Slack integration. I’ve got the following error:

Thanks for the clarification. The issue is clear now: Cloud Agents are being linked to your personal GitHub account instead of your corporate Cursor account.

This looks like a bug in how Cloud Agent account association works when the GitHub integration uses a different email than the Cursor account. I’ll escalate this to the engineering team.

For the Slack integration error, please try disconnecting and reconnecting the Slack integration from Cursor - The AI Code Editor → Cloud Agents tab.

Thanks for the detailed report!
