Self-hosted macOS worker: Computer Use clicks on Xcode 27 Device Hub simulator don't register as taps (screenshots work, Android emulator works)

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor CLI

Describe the Bug

On a self-hosted macOS worker, Computer Use can see the iOS simulator (screenshots are correct), but clicks on the simulator are never delivered as taps. With Xcode 27 there is no standalone Simulator.app anymore; the simulator is shown inside Device Hub. The same worker drives an Android emulator perfectly (clicks and typing work).

Taps sent with Maestro (XCTest, input from inside the simulator) on the same simulator work fine, so the app and simulator are healthy.

Cursor’s Computer Use announcement shows an agent controlling the iOS Simulator. Was that demo recorded with the standalone Simulator.app (Xcode 26 or earlier)? If so, is Xcode 27 Device Hub supported?

Steps to Reproduce

  1. macOS 27.0.1, Xcode 27.1 (27A9275), iPhone 17 Pro simulator on iOS 26.5.
  2. Run agent worker --computer-use start (launchd), with Accessibility and Screen Recording granted to Cursor Computer Use.
  3. Start a Cloud Agent on that machine and ask it to click an icon (e.g. Settings) in the simulator shown in Device Hub.
  4. Compare screenshots before and after the click.

Expected Behavior

The click is delivered as a tap and the simulator screen changes.

Actual behavior: Nothing happens; before/after screenshots differ only in the clock.

Operating System

MacOS

Version Information

  • macOS 27.0.1
  • Xcode 27.1 (27A9275), Device Hub (com.apple.dt.Devices 255.6.8.1)
  • Cursor CLI (agent) 2026.10.22-27dcf5f
  • Cursor Computer Use helper 0.0.1003
  • Cursor app 3.27.12

Additional Information

Additional test (Oct 25): with Device Hub closed and the simulator freshly rebooted, com.apple.coredevice.dtuhidd.active was 0. It switched to 1 as soon as Device Hub opened the simulator (before any click). A single Computer Use click on the Settings icon then did nothing.

Other agents report the same Xcode 27 limitation:
