Separating Business and Personal projects in Cursor

I’m currently using Cursor’s Business plan and I’ve invited users to my business project. However, I’ve encountered an issue and have some questions:

  1. Some of the users I invited were already using the Pro plan for their own projects.

  2. I’ve heard that when invited to a Business plan, their existing Pro plan is automatically cancelled and switched to the Business plan. Is this correct?

  3. The problem is that these invited developers are now using the Business plan account for their other projects as well, which wasn’t my intention.

Given this situation:

  • Do users need separate accounts to maintain both personal (Pro plan) and business projects?
  • How can users keep their personal projects separate from the Business plan they’ve been invited to?
  • Are there any official guidelines or recommendations for handling this scenario?

I’d appreciate any insights or solutions to this issue. Thank you for your assistance!

Hi @kay ,

For reference, just sharing a link to a similar topic that was created recently, which I have sought some clarification on:

Hopefully by providing more details around the desired behaviour and dynamics being encountered, the folks at Cursor who handle account-related queries will be able to provide some guidance and solutions.

Thanks!

I have contacted Cursor support (hi@cursor.com) three times with no sign of a reply.

It would be fine if the specification was to separate accounts, but that would be very inconvenient because you would have to re-authenticate.
