Showing all file changes as in compact display even though Display is configured to "Full"

Describe the Bug

My Chat Display is configured to “Full”, but, from the last update that happened in the last 24hr - it started showing the changes as “Compact” (even though Full is still configured).
Meaning that it shows that it changed a file but doesn’t show the changes - I need to click the rectangle to show the changes.

Steps to Reproduce

Any change the agent does - it shows a rectangle of the changed file without the actual changes.

Expected Behavior

It should show the full.

Hey, thanks for the report. I can repro it, we’ll look into it.

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

The option to toggle compact mode to “Full” under “Display” in cursor settings does nothing. Cursor chat sidebar stays in compact mode and I can’t view the diffs as code is modified by agentic workflow. Code diffs stays collapsed.

Steps to Reproduce

Just use the product

Expected Behavior

Toggling Full/Compact mode in Display setting field should make chat thread code diffs expanded or collapsed by default.

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Before updating to 1.6.42, the setting in the screenshot controlled whether the result of edit_tool would be just the header of the modified file or would show part of the code. Right now, this setting doesn’t do anything and the snippet is never displayed automatically.

Steps to Reproduce

Open Cursor Settings / Chat / Display and try to switch full/compact

Expected Behavior

Cursor team will raise the test coverage in Cursor IDE repository from 40 to at least 65%
