Sometimes new chats on auto simply die right after start

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Somewhere else…

Describe the Bug

Windows 11, app, new chat, occasionally now with auto agent, entering a new chat message goes to planning for a few seconds and then dies and does nothing. Repeat submit. Nothing. Change to Grok High Fast, and it runs. Copy and paste into yet another new chat, and it might actually work with auto. Inconsistently not starting new chat with auto

Steps to Reproduce

Go to workspace, start new chat, enter anything. Sometimes, it simply stalls and dies with no message and no action.

Expected Behavior

It should think, work, process, and complete what was asked

Operating System

Windows 10/11

For AI issues: which model did you use?

auto

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey there!
Thanks for the report. That day Auto sometimes came back empty after planning with no error shown - not something on your side. If it happens again, switch to a specific model (Grok High Fast / Composer both work) or start a new Auto chat. Still seeing it today? Drop a Request ID from a failed Auto attempt (three-dot menu → Copy Request ID) and we’ll dig in. We’ve let the team know.
