Sonnet 4 price change?

Its been a consistent 8 cents per use for Sonnet 4 thinking but noticed about 3 hours ago it started charging different amounts, ranging from 11 cents to 83 cents per use. No max mode is on so I’m confused why this is happening. Is this happening for anyone else?

++ wtf is this

It is because the model is not on promotional rates anymore

Where do we see the new rates?
In Cursor it still says it costs 2 requests and a request cost 4 cents.

The pricing policy must be transparent. It cannot be changed without clear and advance notice. The price was X, then suddenly X/2, and now it’s back to X. I have no idea how long I’ve been using the Claude Thinking unnecessarily and paying more because of it. And now, all of a sudden, the price jumped from 0.75 to 2. It’s unprofessional and unfair.

They let you see the cost lol, Just because you didnt look carefully, does not mean it is their fault.

Have a great day!

awe this ruined my day, i just posted a thread giving cursor praise! why did they remove the promo limit :,(

good things don’t last forever.

wait, does it even matter with the new pricing schematic? don’t we have unlimited usage that is just rate limited?

“just rate limited” has turned out to be ~10 requests per 8 hours so far.

I mean its a promotional discount :person_shrugging:

that can’t be right… i’ve done over 10 chats in the past 8 hours – i am working right now?

I’ve shared my captures and timing. Just confused on usage in this new plan - #10 by LordofCandy

I had a good day yesterday of on/off work and today I’ve been shut out solid. Like I just posted Rate Limit Observations, Let's Talk maybe it’s a glitch in the system, but I don’t feel like the rate limit stick, its refill, or its measure is even across all of us. And I’m one who is fine (within reason) to switch and add money to the tank when necessary to push through something.

i hear ya and i’m sure you are going through that – i just have no clue why i haven’t had trouble yet as i am a relatively heavy user…

Can we switch for like 30m? I’m just about done with some final pieces and I’d really really like to have them debugged. lolol!

for me the biggest difference is this, even with the end of promo Claude 4 is so much more expensive right know. This do not make sense to me.

Did you switch from the old Pro pricing model to the new one right at that time? Because i think the new model charges by compute instead of request count

yup, I want to know that also, wtf..

No, I’m with the new one, Thinking alot to go back to the older one.

I mean your logs that show $0.08 are all from 15.06.2025 (before the new Pro’s release), and the ones that are different than $0.08 are all in 19.06.2025 (after the switch). So i guess the usage-based pricing on the new Pro is compute-based, which makes sense since the new Pro is compute-based

Model rotation is always a good idea:

I love Cursor and I think the company is doing great. We have some problems, but it’s an excellent tool.

When I mentioned transparency, I didn’t mention that before we had the number of prompts used within our payment period, something like 0/500. This was somehow removed, and we lost another part of the transparency I mentioned.

Now, try enabling Max mode on Claude Sonnet and going to the dashboard in the Usage option. The cost column doesn’t register anything. What’s going on? Is there no more limit? Isn’t it being charged? Has anyone been informed about this?

I think it’s essential to have clear and accurate information about the costs associated with using the tool. I didn’t receive any email, I didn’t receive any information on the cursor screen.

I’m not complaining about that, I’m just commenting. They can keep the current pricing the way it is, which is excellent. : )
