SSE MCP registered via `mcp.json` is disabled by default

Hi,
I’m building an extension that automatically configures and SSE MCP for the user by adding it to mcp.json.
When I do this, the server starts off disabled. Is this desired behaviour? And if it is, is there a way to enable it programatically?

Thanks

I’m really hoping for more control over MCP servers via the extension API but so far no response from the cursor team
I mentioned it here too, let’s see
