Subagent permission request "allow" button disappears if expanding the subagent

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

In Agents Mode, when there is a sub-agent that asks for permissions and I see the “Allow” button, if I first click on the subagent name to expand the window of what it’s doing then close it back, the “Allow” button disappears and the subagent is stuck there, the only way to continue is to stop that subagent (the Stop button remains).

Steps to Reproduce

Start a conversation and ask for a sub-agent that calls a tool which requests permissions. When the permission request comes, instead of clicking allow, click first the subagent name then close that window. The Allow button will disappear.

Expected Behavior

The Allow button should stay visible even after expanding the subagent window.

MacOS

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @Alex_Bejan, thanks for the report.

This is a known issue we’re already tracking, and I’ve added your report to it. When a subagent is waiting on Allow, opening the subagent’s view doesn’t show the approval inside it, and right now the Allow button on the parent doesn’t reliably come back after you close that view.

Until it’s fixed, the safest pattern is to approve from the parent chat without opening the subagent first (click Allow on the pill or on the subagent card in the main conversation). If you do get stuck, press Stop and then ask the agent to continue; the subagent will re-request the action with a fresh Allow.
