Suggestion: Add Visual Icons for Model Capabilities (e.g., Image Consultation Support)

Hi Cursor Team,

I’d like to propose a UI enhancement to improve user experience when selecting models in the settings. Specifically, adding clear visual icons next to models that support advanced features like image consultation (e.g., analyzing screenshots/designs for code generation or error debugging).

Why this would help:

  1. User Clarity: Currently, users must manually check documentation or test models to confirm capabilities like image support. Icons (e.g., :camera_with_flash: for image analysis) would reduce confusion, especially for new users.
  2. Efficiency: Developers working with multimodal tasks (e.g., UI design-to-code workflows) could instantly identify compatible models like Claude 3.5 or GPT-4o.
  3. Alignment with Trends: Cursor’s recent focus on UI/UX improvements (e.g., project management integrations) and multimodal workflows suggests this addition would fit seamlessly.

Implementation Idea:

  • In the Models settings tab, display icons (e.g., :page_facing_up: for codebase analysis, :framed_picture: for image support) with tooltips explaining the feature.
  • Example:
[Claude 3.5 Sonnet] 🖼️ [Supports image uploads for UI/code analysis]

This small change would empower users to leverage Cursor’s full potential faster. Thanks for considering!
