Support DeepSeek V3 0324

please explain, how you did it.
thanks

maybe 0.48 not support? you haven’t upgrade yet?

The images resembles an older version < 0.47.9

No, I have version 0.48.1.

If your key fails verification, try disabling all models and try again. Also, don’t forget to change the base URL.

Mine 0.48.1 doesn’t want to add new model (deepseek/deepseek-chat-v3-0324:free) while all previously added to OpenRouter works ok:(

Has anyone used deepseek v3 0324? How it compares to Claude 3.7?

I followed your method and tried to disable all models, keeping only DeepSeek-V3-0324, and it worked. However, this configuration method is quite difficult to understand. When I successfully configured it and was ready to use it, I needed to switch to agent mode during the process, so I switched back to ā€˜auto’. But all the requests were routed through the OpenAI URL I had configured, so except for the DeepSeek model, I couldn’t use any others.

This setting needs improvement. Custom models should support configuring the request URL and API key for each model individually; otherwise, it’s very difficult to use.

Anyway, thanks for your help!

I successfully used OpenRouter’s DeepSeek V3 0324, but at the same time, all models went through OpenRouter, and Cursor did not provide the option to choose which models use custom APIs and which use default ones

Is it a pre-release/beta version?

Yes, this is a pre-release version. You can get it by enabling it in the settings.

at least if this happened we could afford to pay Cursor for the new tool call costs instead of spending all the money on the model costs…

I managed to add new models (not only this deepseek one) with ENTER key but not add model key after typing the name of it.

in short:
you have to be PAID user to use your own api.

bye bye free trial users.

ps: i buy pro last month but i am gonna switch.

V3 0324 is on par with C3.7…

if you are paid user,

deepseek’s API is designed to be the same as openai’s.

so in cursor it let you input custom openai api key.
use it here, but using deepseek’s api end point.

problem is, free trial cant use this.
have to be paid pro users of cursor.

me too, can’t add any new model into the list

It’s nice to be able to use the latest model, but as far as I’m concerned I’m not too keen on it, because certainly the Sonnet 3.7 is the best model for programming at the moment, certainly better than the DeepSeek V3 0324.

I’ve tried many that were very high in the rankings and they don’t even approach the Sonnet 3.7

Yes thats true, R1 and V3 are far behind 3.5 or 3.7 Sonnet from my tests. R1 has certainly more hallucinations.

I’ve been testing for a few moments on an OpenRoute key. It works really well and even performs edits correctly as an agent. I’ve tested it on something that usually causes problems for models other than Sonnet. It promises to be interesting. I look forward to full Cursor support and a REALISTIC pricing plan

cursor: how can we charge for things that are almost free?
